Italy Trip

I am almost at the end off of my trip to Italy. The art influence is everywhere you look, from Gothic to Renaissance. Each area is rich with culture dating back to 753 BC. The first place I stayed was Murano, it is an islandright off the mainland in Venice. Murano is well know for glass making. While there I went to Murano Glass Factory and watched how they make their beautiful glass and toured their museum.

I spent a day in Venice absorbed the atmosphere and enjoyed a stroll through the city of water. They travel to and from Venice by boat. I took a Gondola ride, it was so pleasant and relaxing. The beautiful architecture is breathtaking and pictures does not do it justice.

My next stop was Florence where I was able to see art by da Vinci and Michelangelo, saw the same art influence intertwined with the beautiful Italian marble. Italy is known for it's marble. You see it in shades of white, pink, green, and light brown.

It did a wine tasting in Tuscany and saw the vineyard and the barrels of wine. I also saw Olive Trees with green olives.

Next stop and where I am today is Rome. I visited the Roman Coliseum. Here you have yet another architecture form. The Roman's where the first time introduce the arches in their buildings. The Roman Coliseum is a prime example. I visited St Ignatius of Loyola Church, I felt surrounded in peace. This church was, as they say in Italy, Mama Mia!! All the paint ceilings and the devotion to each religion was amazing. I saw the famous Trevi Fountain, which was breathtaking.

Today I will travel to Sorrento, where I will finish out my trip. I will do another post next week to close out my adventure in Italy.

I have some designs in mind for my Italy inspires collection, so stay tuned!!
